What is the primary need, technical challenge, and/or problem you will be responsible for?
Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Technical Operations, this position will be responsible for collaborating with the technology team to design, maintain and most importantly, automate the operations processes of our enterprise-wide cloud infrastructure solution. Duties include management of critical infrastructure and monitoring systems, incident response, and problem management. Furthermore, you will be participating in discussions to understand requirements and objectives to lead efforts in developing the architecture and implementation plan for platform upgrades.

Additionally, you will use the VMware Suite of applications to deliver IT services through automation and pre-defined policies to significantly contribute to the enterprise architecture strategy, roadmap, and standards of Dizzion’s cloud infrastructure. Having experience in all phases of the development lifecycle, including use of formal required documentation, testing methodologies, implementation strategies, and troubleshooting techniques, you will approach challenges with a DevOps mindset to be able to research and innovate automation using vendor APIs and disparate technologies. You will work with teams, vendors, and consultants to determine strategy for complex system changes, upgrades, implementations, and understanding processes to determine how to incorporate them into the Cloud while being streamlined, using automation, and adhering to policy and compliance.

You will work on unusually complex technical problems which are highly innovative and ingenious. You will apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts to provide solutions. You will contribute to the development of new principles and concepts, develop configuration and procedural documentation, and communicate technical procedures and processes to non-technical users.

Lastly, you will develop methodologies and practices to manage and plan system capacity based on projected growth rates to ensure that system performance remains at acceptable levels. You will maintain software versions of the host infrastructure servers to the latest production levels keeping compliant with security requirements and standards. You will contribute significantly to enterprise architecture strategy, roadmap, and standards.

What Other Skills Give Me an Advantage?

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field and/or relevant work experience with demonstrated success
  • Required experience:
  • Performing engineering or development functions in direct support of infrastructure services, using PowerShell and/or VMware PowerCLI
  • Managing and engineering vSphere, vRealize Operations Manager, vSAN, NSX-V, VMware HCX, and VMware Horizon environments
  • Managing and engineering Windows Server and Windows Active Directory
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • VMware Certified Professional or other VMware certifications
  • Experience supporting VMware’s Site Recovery Manager (SRM)
  • Working knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or Linux desired

The hiring manager for this role is Kwesi Ames, Senior Vice President of Operations. Kwesi leads the Operations department with functional responsibility that includes technical operations, platform engineering and customer support. He brings 22 years of experience in information technology and operations. Ames previously served as vice president of site reliability engineering at Salesforce (~10 years).

  • $90,000 - $115,000 annually (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, and alignment of market data.)
