What is the primary need, technical challenge, and/or problem you will be responsible for?
The Site Reliability Engineer is responsible for leading efforts to develop the roadmap of initiatives to continually drive more resiliency into Dizzion’s DaaS solution with a focus on optimizing existing systems, building infrastructure, managing the complex challenges of scale, while using expertise and tenacity to build and run large-scale, fault-tolerant systems, eliminating toil through automation and process optimization.
In addition, this role will be responsible for the implementation, tuning, and ongoing administration of our POD layer and infrastructure. You will design, configure, monitor, and provide administration support for the VMware vRealize Cloud Suite of products which includes: vRealize Automation, Orchestration, Operations Manager, and Life Cycle Manager. You will work with teams, vendors, and consultants to determine strategy for complex system changes and technical problems, upgrades, implementations, and automate and streamline processes while maintaining data security and compliance.
This role will serve as an advocate for system resiliency and security and develop methodologies and practices to manage and plan system capacity based on projected growth rate to ensure maximum system performance. You will maintain software versions of the host infrastructure servers to the latest production levels keeping compliant with security requirements and standards. You will lead efforts in the research and documentation of processes and configurations, including new procedure manual documentation, implementation, and updates.
This role will also investigate and analyze the root cause of critical incidents and develop plans to mitigate or resolve permanently while enabling faster issue resolution via mentoring, training and documentation of common system and virtualization troubleshooting topics. You will be able to effectively communicate technical procedures and processes to non-technical users, function as a technical escalation point of contact for customer issues, and improve visibility into customer service performance, availability and traffic patterns via metrics, alerting and engineering analysis.
Please note this role will be provide off-peak support via shared on-call rotation.
