The Virtualization Support Engineer I (VSE) is critical to the success of our customers.  The selected candidate will primarily be responsible for handling administration, provisioning and support of customers on our Cloud Delivered Desktop platform.  This individual will be responsible for establishing a relationship with our customers and will be the face and voice of Dizzion.

Virtualization Support Administrator I Responsibilities

  • Provide day to day support of 24x7x365 technical operations. Including virtual desktop performance troubleshooting, access issues and general troubleshooting/problem solving
  • Maintain critical customer infrastructure systems and applications including, Active Directory, VMware vSphere, VMware vShield, Monitoring, DHCP, and DNS services
  • Monitor/respond to customer environment issues
  • Records customer and problem information in the appropriate ticketing system
  • Updates tickets with appropriate entries of activities, and closes tickets with resolution entered upon completion.
  • Escalates complex problems to the appropriate engineering group
  • Deploy virtual desktops to customers and support integration and onboarding efforts
  • Establish a solid relationship with the customer and become their trusted advisor
  • Develop and manage relationships with customers through provisioning and technical support
  • Assist the customer with on-boarding as required
  • Support the client relations and service delivery team members with customer support and communications
  • Promote an environment that encourages open communication and coordination
  • Manage expectations by building relationships and communicating effectively
  • Complete weekly and other regular reports as required
  • Help establish and support a “Can Do” culture
  • Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities required by the business
  • Maintain competency and enhance professional growth and development through continuing education and development

Required Skills & Experience

  • 1 plus years supporting Windows Desktop/Server Support in a 24x7 NOC setting
  • 2 plus years of customer facing interaction and direct end user support
  • 1 Plus years in a managed services environment or a combination of hosting experience
  • 1 plus years using VMware Virtualization in a production capacity (3.5, 4.x, 5.x)
  • 2 plus years of professional work with Microsoft Windows Server and Desktop operating systems
  • Working knowledge of basic network communications
  • Able to function effectively and independently with ever changing situations and assignments
  • Good work habits under pressure
  • Detailed oriented
  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills

Education & Certifications

  • Microsoft certification(s) MCITP or MCTS preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT technology-related discipline preferred
