What is primary need, technical challenge, and/or problem you will be responsible for?
Reporting to the President and CTO, this position will be responsible for collaborating with technical staff to design, configure, develop, and maintain an enterprise-wide cloud infrastructure solution. Duties include participating in discussions to understand requirements and objectives to lead efforts in developing the architecture and implementation plan for platform upgrades.

Additionally, you will use the VMware Suite of applications to deliver IT services through automation and pre-defined policies to significantly contribute to the enterprise architecture strategy, roadmap, and standards of Dizzion’s cloud infrastructure.

Having experience in all phases of the development lifecycle, including use of formal required documentation, testing methodologies, implementation strategies, and troubleshooting techniques, you will approach challenges with a DevOps mindset to be able to research and innovate automation using vendor APIs and disparate technologies. You will work with teams, vendors, and consultants to determine strategy for complex system changes, upgrades, implementations, and understanding processes to determine how to incorporate them into the Cloud while being streamlined, using automation, and adhering to policy.

You will work on unusually complex technical problems which are highly innovative and ingenious. You will apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts to provide solutions. You will contribute to the development of new principles and concepts, develop configuration and procedural documentation, and communicate technical procedures and processes to non-technical users.

Lastly, you will develop methodologies and practices to manage and plan system capacity based on projected growth rates to ensure that system performance remains at acceptable levels. You will maintain software versions of the host infrastructure servers to the latest production levels keeping compliant with security requirements and standards.

What Other Skills Give Me an Advantage?

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field and/or relevant work experience (5+ years) with demonstrated success
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience:
  • Performing engineering or development functions in direct support of infrastructure services
  • Demonstrated experience managing and engineering: VMWare ESX, NSX, vSphere 5.5/6.5, vRealize Operations
  • Developing standalone code using either Python, PowerShell, REST or JSON API
  • Must have experience developing and implementing automation outside of any orchestration or GUI automation tool
  • Using any of the following Operating system technologies: Windows Server and Windows Active Directory
  • Managed Code for automation such as PowerShell, Python, C#, bash or other scripting languages
  • Networking infrastructure and protocols
  • Must be US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a US Public Trust clearance
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • VMware Certified Professional or other VMware certifications
  • Expertise using vRealize Operations Manager, Life Cycle Manager or Code Stream
  • Experience supporting VMware’s Site Recovery Manager (SRM)
  • Experience developing code that integrates with VMware NSX
  • Experience integrating Unified Communications and/or VoIP System Integration (i.e. Avaya)

Experience using:

  • GitHub or Bitbucket
  • Ansible
  • The Agile software development method
  • Jira
  • ServiceNow experience a plus
  • Project Management experience
  • Networking experience
  • Working knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or Linux desired

The hiring manager for this role is Robert Green, President, CTO, and founder at Dizzion. Rob is the visionary for defining Dizzion’s products. He oversees all aspects of technology including strategy, infrastructure, systems, tools and development. Green previously held the position of Director, Product Development and System Architecture at ViaWest. While at ViaWest he redefined the managed services offering and created several innovative products. Green also served as the Director of Technical Infrastructure for Rackspace Managed Hosting where he established the internal infrastructure systems and external technical services that fueled exploding triple digit growth throughout the mid 2000’s.

  • $110,000 - $125,000 annually (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, and alignment of market data.)
