Dizzion recently become an associate member of the Global Impact Sourcing Coalition (GISC), an organization dedicated to creating a market for inclusive employment by raising awareness of impact sourcing, particularly within the BPO and contact center industries.
Impact sourcing is the practice of connecting organizations with people who have limited prospects for formal employment. In many cases, this potential pool of employees is located in developing countries or have a disability or life circumstance that makes it difficult for them to find long-term, full-time employment. By encouraging organizations that do not need on-site employees to consider impact sourcing, GISC helps place these individuals on a formal career track that can lead to economic self-sufficiency through income growth, skills development and professional development.
In September 2016, the Rockefeller Foundation and BSR came together with other leading companies to form GISC. This coalition is comprised of companies—buyers and service providers —that have joined forces to create jobs for those most in need through the power of procurement. GISC hopes to not only increase awareness of impact sourcing as a viable talent fulfillment option, but to turn it into the preferred option for corporate sourcing.
The organization currently has members that include BPOs, client companies and business service providers. Dizzion joined GISC as an associate member whose services complement and enable the practice of impact sourcing.
Impact sourcing is about connecting supply and demand. There are many individuals who are unable to travel to traditional commerce hubs or brick and mortar offices but who are no less talented or willing to work. By paying attention to this hiring option, companies can get access to a large pool of affordable, quality talent.
During a recent webinar, GISC shared several stories of real people who struggled to find employment opportunities but were able to secure jobs through companies that practice impact sourcing. The stories were varied, illustrating the range of individuals who find success through impact sourcing:
GISC also points out that impact sourcing not only benefits the employees who are hired through the process, it also has a positive impact on the hiring organizations, including:
Dizzion joined GISC because of a clear alignment between the coalition’s goals and the capabilities Dizzion enables. Dizzion’s cloud delivered desktops allow employees to work from any device, anywhere, making working remotely around the world easier than ever before. All workers need is an internet connection and an endpoint device (which can be as simple as a laptop or thin/zero client). This makes it possible for individuals employed through impact sourcing to have the same working capabilities they would otherwise experience in a traditional office space. Dizzion’s application streaming services and security and control capabilities make it easy for IT teams to ensure employees have access to updated applications in a secure desktop environment, regardless of location.
Dizzion is proud to be a member of GISC and we will continue to strive towards GISC’s vision of improved social and economic well-being of families, communities and nations. If you are a BPO or a company that uses BPO services, we encourage you to consider impact sourcing for your talent fulfillment needs.
